# Give infinite feeds an ending

Practice ID: 3
Topic: `attention` (attention: Boundaries that protect focus, presence, and deliberate use from digital pull.)
Added: 2026-09-01
Journey entry point: `reset` (Reduce the strongest default pulls and regain enough space to choose deliberately.)
Start with: `habit` (habit)
Supports: `deliberate-technology-use` (deliberate technology use; group: `daily-life` / My attention and daily life)

## Pattern

An infinite feed becomes more deliberate when browsing and consuming are separated by a finite queue with an empty state.

## Practice

Skim chosen sources only to save worthwhile items, then leave the feed. Consume from the saved queue until it is empty.

## Start small

Save one item to a finite Watch Later list, leave the feed, and consume only from that list.

## Watch out

A queue with no limit or review rule can become another infinite feed in disguise.

## Concepts

- [intentional friction](https://live.freewith.tech/concepts/intentional-friction.md): A small obstacle creates time to reconsider an automatic digital action.
- [zero queues](https://live.freewith.tech/concepts/zero-queues.md): A queue has a meaningful done state and can return to empty.
