I am Samuel Pitonak, the person responsible for live #freewithtech, fwt. zone, and their shared fwt. list. You can contact me about access, correction, deletion, or consent at privacy@freewithtech.com.
fwt. emails
The form collects only an email address. It requires you to acknowledge this page before sending the address. The site sends that address to Buttondown so you can stay on the page. live #freewithtech does not keep a copy. I use the same list on live #freewithtech and fwt. zone to send occasional news about fwt., including when fwt. zone is ready.
Buttondown processes the signup and sends the confirmation email on my behalf. Buttondown says it does not sell subscriber data and provides controls for email analytics and link tracking. Its privacy policy also applies to that processing. You must confirm the address before it joins the list.
Every email also provides a way to unsubscribe.
The form does not ask for a name or personal context. Neither site adds analytics or advertising tracking to the form.
site analytics
Vercel Web Analytics records page views on live #freewithtech. It does not use cookies or advertising identifiers. Vercel says the data is aggregated and not tied to a person or IP address. Its privacy policy also applies to that processing. I do not use this data for advertising.
browser preferences
The homepage launch notice stores a dismissal preference in local storage when you dismiss it. The appearance choice stores a light, dark, or system preference when you choose one. System follows the operating system. These preferences contain no identifier or browsing history and are not sent to live #freewithtech. Clearing this site’s browser data removes them.
my collection
My collection stores selected practice IDs, their saved or adopted statuses, and local timestamps in your browser. Titles and links are read from the public database when the collection is shown. It uses local storage when available and may fall back to temporary tab or page memory when browser storage is restricted. This information is not sent to live #freewithtech. You can remove individual practices or delete the complete collection at any time.
fwt. zone
My collection can create a snapshot link for fwt. zone. The selected practice IDs and their saved or adopted statuses are compressed into the link’s query string. fwt. zone receives those IDs while handling the page request. The snapshot is not encrypted. The temporary Zone page acknowledges the snapshot for that visit, removes the query from browser history after loading, and does not save it or display the collection.
The signup form on fwt. zone uses the same fwt. list described above. Entering an email address does not save the snapshot or associate it with that address.
